Case Study: PACK & SEND makes Event Logistics easy!

Floral Chambord display

Faced with the harrowing prospect of transporting an excessively large and expensive representation of a Chambord liqueur bottle to events across Australia, liquor distributor Brown-Forman found themselves in search of a convenient and cost-effective solution.

In addition to fast and safe transportation of their delicate display – within a tight deadline and budget – Brown-Forman needed an Event Logistics company that could complete the job including the fabrication of a custom made case, transport and unpacking of merchandising equipment and pack down of the specially built case. Plus, when the time came, one that could take care of the return process.

Fortunately after meeting David Scicluna from PACK & SEND Surry Hills and knowing the capabilities of PACK & SEND as an existing customer, they realised they’d found the answer.

Value-added solutions

David began his association with the Chambord Marketing Team by transporting the company’s 150 x 150 x 120cm bottle of Chambord and other promotional materials from a venue in Sydney to their head office in Surry Hills. David soon won the team’s trust along with ongoing time sensitive assignments.

The super-sized bottle of liqueur was next destined for a two month stay in a local city pub in Brisbane where it would work its marketing magic before moving on.

Working within a tight budget and timeframe, David and his team collected the display bottle along with over 7 cubic metres of merchandising equipment. A brand new custom-made recyclable case was then made to measure within 36 hours, and all items were professionally packed.

Once the consignment was appropriately packed and on its way, David closely managed its movement, teeing up PACK & SEND South Brisbane who took over on site at the destination venue.

Event Logistics that goes the extra mile

On arrival, Peter of PACK & SEND South Brisbane got straight to work unloading and flat packing the case for storage. Peter worked with the merchandising team at the venue so that they could concentrate on the best possible display of the bottle on stage. Packaging waste was removed as required and photos were taken of the final result.

With this support in place for Brown-Forman and the on premise merchandising team, expenses could be controlled and minimised while the quality of the execution remained high.

Once executed all parties were thoroughly satisfied, with Brown-Forman’s Brand Activation Manager – Chambord & Tequila, Kristen Donnelly, now referring to PACK & SEND as ‘their favourite courier service’ having effortlessly received the results they’d hoped for and the Brisbane City pub receiving a head-turning display that was set up for them in time for Valentine’s Day through to Easter 2017. The same presentation on Easter Tuesday morning set off on its next PACK & SEND journey, this time to Melbourne. Scott from PACK & SEND Milton completed the bump out at the venue, packed up the bottle at 10am and the 400kg case was collected for its second transit by 11:30.

PACK & SEND accomplishes its mission once again – saving its customers time, trouble and money!
